The IUBS 29th General Assembly which took place in May, 2007
(Washington DC, USA) approved the following Resolution:
That the IUBS establish a programme to celebrate 2009 as a
"Darwin Year".

Science (IUHPS)

The Council of the Division of History of Science and Technology
(DHST) of the International Union of History and Philosophy of
Science, during its meeting in Athens, December 17, 2006,
endorsed the proposal of the Brazilian Association for Philosophy
and History of Biology to join in celebrating 2009 as the “World
Year of Biology”
